The Narrow Road Between Desires is Bast’s story. Bast knows how to bargain and negotiation is very familiar to him. Bast sits at the tree at the top of the hill very day and makes trades with all people from the village. However, when he accepts a gift, taking something for nothing, his world is turned upside down.
This book follows one day in the life of Bast from dawn to midnight. The charming Fae screams and sneaking easily getting in an out of trouble with grace.
I over all really enjoyed this book. Even thought the Kingkiller Chronicles follows (Or will eventually) three days of Kvothe telling us and the Chronicler the story of his life. This is a nice way to find out more about our resident Fae Bast. It definitely does not give me the answers I need, only the final book will, but learning more about the charming and mischievous Bast was well worth the read.
